There is no changing or shaking the world-wide consensus on the proximity of global climate change.  There is just too much evidence already on the table, whether it is thawing tundra in far northern latitudes, melting Arctic ice fields, earlier growing seasons throughout Europe, or rising average temperatures the world over.

We know global climate change is happening.  The question is:  what will we do about it?

Check out this recent speech by the chief scientific officer in England.  According to him the real issue, at least immediately, is going to be about food production. 

"There is progress on climate change. But out there is another major
problem. It is very hard to imagine how we can see a world growing
enough crops to produce renewable energy and at the same time meet the
enormous increase in the demand for food which is quite properly going
to happen as we alleviate poverty."
